What if mermaids live really long - and the longer they live, the bigger they grow?

(I guess the bigger they grow, the harder it is for them to stick their torso and even their head out of the water. That’s why no one ever sees the big ones. And definitely never the huge ones.)
A bit late to the party, but here’s my contribution to the Catalog of Merfolk. I didn’t have nearly as much time to finish this as I wanted, but I have to be up in 5 hours so this will have to do!

All I can think of is mermaid titans

They-Fear-Even-His-Horses was a chief of the most powerful tribe of Sioux Indians; the Oglala Sioux. He fought in the Red Cloud’s War in 1866 opposing the United States government’s building of the Montana road through their territory and was an advocate for peace after the Wounded Knee Massacre. He is illustrated here adorning a buffalo headdress used in the traditional ritual of the Ghost Dance. The Ghost Dance is said to reunite the living with the spirits of the dead and bring peace and unity to the native peoples throughout the region.
